Pierson Ferdinand Strengthens Corporate Department With Technology & Life Sciences Partner
Said Ertekin’s arrival enhances PierFerd’s capabilities in complex global transactions, emerging companies and venture capital, and outside general counsel services
New York, NY – March 20, 2025 – Pierson Ferdinand LLP (“PierFerd”), one of the world’s fastest-growing law firms renowned for its commitment to client service excellence and innovation, announces the appointment of Said Ertekin as a Partner in its Corporate Department.
A trusted advisor to high-growth companies, investors, and multinational corporations, Said strengthens PierFerd’s capabilities in technology, life sciences, and cross-border transactions.
He joins PierFerd from a regional boutique firm where he led its transactional department, preceded by ten years at two Am Law 100 law firms - Fenwick & West LLP and DLA Piper LLP.
Said has over eleven years’ experience in corporate legal matters, representing high-growth companies, established corporates; including businesses from across the U.S. and several international markets; and investors – such as private equity and venture capital firms – helping clients navigate complex transactional issues.
He has counseled various parties - including buyers, sellers, lenders, borrowers, investors and startups - on matters such as M&A transactions, stock and asset acquisitions, strategic investments, venture financing, and commercial real estate purchases. While his practice is sector-agnostic, the technology and life sciences sectors are a significant focus - reflecting their evolving operating environments.
Said also has significant experience as an outside General Counsel; a role he has held for several clients operating in various sectors mostly focused on technology and life sciences.
Michael Pierson, Co-Chairman of Pierson Ferdinand, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Said to PierFerd. His extensive experience counseling corporate clients, particularly in the technology and life sciences sectors, is a valuable addition to the Corporate Department; ensuring we continue to offer the highest-quality service to clients dealing with cutting-edge issues.”
Said Ertekin, Partner at Pierson Ferdinand, commented:
“I am delighted to join PierFerd. Its growth, unparalleled tech-driven offerings, and welcoming culture made the decision to join an easy one. The move will benefit my clients and my practice, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to give clients the continued world-class service they have come to expect from PierFerd.”
Said also has an active pro bono practice mostly focusing on representing nonprofits – counseling them on compliance with nonprofit laws and their corporate governance.
He is fluent in French and Turkish and holds a Master of Laws in International Law and Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center; where he received the Dean’s Certificate for Special and Outstanding Service to the Law Center; and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland.
