High-stakes commercial litigator and trial attorney joins from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP

Drew has successfully tried more than twenty cases during his career, representing clients in state and federal courts in all types of high-states commercial litigation, including real estate, environmental, antitrust unfair competition, intellectual property, securities, and insurance matters, among others.
Drew’s notable recent trial successes include:
Obtaining a complete defense verdict in a jury trial, representing a client alleged to have improperly shipped hazardous waste to the plaintiffs. Plaintiffs had claimed US$1 billion+ of damages.
Secured a complete defense verdict in a jury trial concerning breach of contract claims in which the plaintiff sought to recover damages in excess of US$17 million.
Recovering damages in excess of US$9 million, and defeating cross-claims for more than US$21 million, in JAMS arbitration between a health plan and a medical group.
Arriving at PierFerd after more than twenty-five years at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Drew brings world-class, Am Law 100 experience. His appointment aligns with and enhances the high-quality, sophisticated, litigation service PierFerd offers to clients.
Recognition of Drew’s work includes the Legal 500 on various occasions, such as 2015 for ‘Antitrust – Cartel’ matters; and in 2015 and 2019 for ‘Antitrust – Civil Litigation / Class Actions’. His pro bono efforts in the Bay Area were recognized via receipt of the ‘Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service’ Award from the San Francisco Bar Association in 2014. Drew has also served as a judge pro tem for the San Francisco Superior Court, presiding over court-ordered settlement conferences.
Drew is an accomplished author and writer, contributing to leading media outlets and authoritative publications. He co-authored the chapter ‘Privacy and California’s Antitrust Laws’ in California State Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law, published in 2019, and a Law360 feature, ‘A Developing Circuit Split Over Vertical Restraints’, published in 2013.
