Former patent examiner and federal clerk brings deep IP expertise in cutting-edge technologies

Based in Palo Alto, Sid brings extensive experience in patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, and patent prosecution, further bolstering PierFerd’s renowned IP team.
Sid’s technical expertise spans a wide range of industries including artificial intelligence; computer-implemented technologies; and medical devices. His unique background includes serving as a former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and clerking for a federal judge, giving him exceptional insight into patent prosecution and high-stakes IP litigation.
Sid is licensed to practice in California, Florida, New Jersey, and before the USPTO. His multilingual capabilities - with fluency in Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati - further enhance his ability to serve a diverse client base.
His appointment - joining PierFerd’s highly talented IP department led by Co-Chairs Christopher R. Kinkade and Naira Simmons is the latest expansion of PierFerd’s capabilities in the sector, allowing the firm to offer enhanced strategic counsel to clients, especially in the fast-growing fields of AI and biomedical innovation.
Sid holds a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and a J.D. with a concentration in Intellectual Property.
