New York, NY – July 7, 2025 – Pierson Ferdinand LLP (“PierFerd” or the “Firm”), one of the world’s fastest-growing law firms, announces the appointment of five (5) Partners in June across its Corporate, Litigation, Real Estate, Securities, Data Privacy, and Healthcare practices.
These appointments demonstrate PierFerd’s continued momentum - attracting experienced legal talent, drawn to the Firm’s collaborative, client-focused culture and entrepreneurial ethos.
Brian Connelly joins in Boston, Massachusetts, as a Partner in the Corporate practice. He brings over 20 years of experience advising life sciences and biotech companies on commercial real estate leasing, corporate matters, and strategic transactions. Brian also has a unique practice assisting clients with CMC-related matters and supply chain and distribution arrangements for both clinical and commercial pharmaceutical products and devices.
He previously practiced at Faber Daeufer & Itrato PC and Foley Hoag LLP. Brian earned his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Emily Goebel joins in Washington, D.C. as a Partner in the Litigation practice. She brings over a decade of experience advising clients on broker-dealer regulatory and compliance matters involving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She also assists carriers and their agents with representations and warranties insurance (RWI) claims and handles complex commercial litigation, including post-acquisition M&A disputes.
Prior to joining PierFerd, Emily served as Assistant General Counsel in FINRA’s Regulatory Policy group and previously practiced as a litigation associate at Mayer Brown LLP and Butler Rubin LLP. Her arrival will further enhance the high-quality service PierFerd provides to clients on securities regulation and RWI matters. Emily earned her B.A. from the University of Richmond and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Illinois and New York, and before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Eric Peterman joins in New York, New York as a Partner in the Litigation practice, bringing more than three (3) decades of experience advising on complex financial transactions and alternative funding structures. With a longstanding focus on litigation finance, Eric serves as outside counsel to a leading litigation funding firm. He advises on deal structuring, compliance, and fund-level matters, and will continue to support his litigation funding firm under a dedicated counsel arrangement.
Prior to joining PierFerd, Eric was a Partner at Raines Feldman Littrell LLP, previously holding senior roles at Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Helsinger; DLA Piper LLP (U.S.); Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP; and Fried Frank. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Kevin Pomfret joins in McLean, Virginia as a Partner in the Corporate practice, bringing over three (3) decades’ experience advising emerging companies on issues arising at the intersection of business, technology and the law. He advises domestic and international companies on corporate and technology transactions, regulatory compliance, data privacy and governance, AI policy, and cross-border data issues, complementing PierFerd’s work at the intersection of innovation and risk. He also counsels space and other companies with dual use technologies on selling products and services to the U.S. Government, including on FOCI mitigation.
Prior to joining PierFerd, Kevin served as co-chair of Williams Mullen’s Data Protection & Cybersecurity team. Previously, he held senior roles at LeClairRyan and McGuireWoods. Kevin earned his B.A. from Bates College and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Virginia.
Jeremy Rucker joins in Dallas, Texas as a Partner in the Corporate practice, focusing on data privacy, security, and incident response. He brings nearly ten (10) years of experience advising clients on evolving federal, state, and international data laws and regulations, including various comprehensive state privacy laws and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Jeremy also counsels clients on national data breach notification processes and resultant regulator investigations.
Prior to joining PierFerd, Jeremy was a Partner at Spencer Fane LLP. Jeremy holds a B.B.A from The University of Texas at Arlington – College of Business and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law; has earned the IAPP’s ABA-accredited Privacy Law Specialist (PLS) designation; holds certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a certified information privacy professional for U.S. and European law and as a certified information privacy manager; and is admitted to practice in Texas.
