About
Emily Goebel is an experienced litigation and securities regulatory attorney in Pierson Ferdinand's Washington, D.C. office. Emily concentrates her practice on broker-dealer regulatory and compliance matters involving the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and assisting carriers and their agents with representations and warranties insurance (RWI) claims, and complex commercial litigation, including post-acquisition M&A disputes.

Prior to joining Pierson Ferdinand, Emily served as Assistant General Counsel in FINRA’s Regulatory Policy group where she advised senior management, examination staff and other stakeholders on novel legal and policy issues, including the operational impact of new and proposed rules and politically complex regulatory initiatives.
Prior to FINRA, Emily was a litigation associate at Mayer Brown LLP and Butler Rubin LLP in Chicago and New York where she worked on white collar criminal investigations, and litigated and arbitrated a variety of financial services matters and multimillion- and billion-dollar insurance and reinsurance disputes on behalf of insurers, cedents and reinsurers.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her two active children, traveling, skiing, scuba diving and cooking.
