PierFerd Salutes Trailblazing Women in the Legal Profession

As we end our celebration of Women’s History Month, we want to take this opportunity to honor the incredible female lawyer trailblazers who have paved the way for equality and justice. From Belva Lockwood, the first woman to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose landmark cases reshaped gender equality laws, these remarkable women have fearlessly challenged societal norms and shattered glass ceilings. RBG’s unwavering dedication to gender equality not only shattered barriers but also paved the way for generations of women and lawyers to come. The dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to justice inspire us to work toward a more inclusive and equitable society.

RBG’s impact on our collective careers cannot be understated. When we think about women’s history and gender equity, especially, we return to RBG’s cases, both litigated and the rulings she wrote, time and time again. We appreciate and marvel at her resolve, perseverance, and mettle. Absent her footprint, we’ve no idea where we would be.

PierFerd Partner Diem Kaelber shared her thoughts on what Women's History Month means to her. “It is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history which exemplifies women overcoming challenging and difficult societal conditions. It also marks a time to honor and uphold the dignity, role and rights of women in their families and society as mothers, wives, partners, daughters, sisters and workers. It is a time for reflection and a calling for other women to stand, speak, and encourage one another to reach new heights and goals for the future of women.”

At PierFerd, we value all of our wonderful Women attorneys and the many contributions of women in the legal profession.
