About

Ivan Hanna is a partner in Pierson Ferdinand’s UK corporate practice. He specializes in corporate and M&A transactions, complex cross-border and domestic restructuring, and the legal implementation of intercompany agreements for transfer pricing compliance. Ivan advises multinational corporates, financial institutions, family offices and private investors on the full lifecycle of corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, and supply chain and intellectual property restructuring projects.

  • Ivan trained and qualified as a solicitor at Baker McKenzie in London in 2005, where he spent more than seven years advising UK and multinational groups on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and investment structures, corporate reorganizations and simplification projects, joint ventures, and general corporate and commercial matters. During his time at Baker McKenzie, he was posted to the firm’s Moscow and Amsterdam offices for a combined total of three years, focusing on international joint ventures, M&A, and corporate equity and debt restructuring.

Ivan’s practice spans a broad range of sectors, including financial services, insurance, technology and SaaS, digital media, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, energy, manufacturing, hospitality, and consulting services. He also acts for a number of well-known private equity and sovereign investment funds, as well as family offices, providing comprehensive corporate and commercial support alongside international tax advisors.

For more than two decades, Ivan has worked at the intersection of corporate law, international tax, and transfer pricing, including with a focus on the legal implementation of reorganizations for large multinational groups. He brings significant in-house experience, having served as M&A and Integrations Legal Manager at Accenture (2011–2014) and as Senior Group Legal Counsel at The Phoenix Group (2015–2016), the UK’s largest life insurance consolidator, where he gained deep familiarity with the governance and regulatory demands of large global corporate groups operating in highly regulated environments.

In recent years, Ivan’s work has concentrated on international corporate structures, supply chain optimization, and intercompany agreements for the transfer pricing compliance of multinational corporates and financial institutions.

In addition to his core corporate, M&A, restructuring, and transfer pricing practice, Ivan has broad transactional experience across commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment, pensions, real estate, trade compliance, competition, data privacy, and anti-corruption matters.

Outside work, Ivan is an RYA Coastal Skipper and enjoys sailing, surfing, skiing, SCUBA diving, and international adventure travel.
