About

Allison Bustin focuses her practice on a broad range of labor and employment matters. She represents both public and private sector employers in navigating and mitigating employment issues. She provides clients with day-to-day counseling on federal and state laws governing employment relationships, as well as drafting employment agreements, employee handbooks, and employer policies and procedures.

  • Allison also elevates her labor and employment practice with a specialty in immigration law, rooted in her extensive international experiences. She counsels clients in navigating federal regulations and representing employers with respect to a variety of business immigration matters, including obtaining employment-based nonimmigrant visas, such as H-1B visas, L visas, O visas, TN visas, R visas, as well as J-1 visa waivers. She has substantial experience in responding to USCIS Requests for Evidence and resolving agency errors. She advises employers, businesses, and individuals on lawful permanent residence matters (green cards), including the permanent labor certification process from start to finish, consular processing, and/or adjustment of status, and other nonimmigrant and immigrant benefit requests. She also advises clients regarding I-9 compliance and inspection, ICE enforcement, and options for sponsorship and commitment.

Allison’s experience also includes nonprofit work and public service. She served in the Peace Corps and also as an AmeriCorps VISTA. She is a triple Pitt alumna with experience in the nonprofit and international sectors, including as a development consultant in Bolivia, working with a USAID Property Rights program in Kosovo and facilitating programming with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program in Bosnia. Such experiences only enhance her legal practice and abilities to counsel clients with diverse backgrounds and needs.
