Pierson Ferdinand’s Cyber, Privacy & Technology group is hiring a partner level attorney to defend companies and technology providers in privacy, cyber and media liability disputes as part of our growing CPT bench. You will handle CIPA and wiretap defense, technology errors and omissions matters, cyber incident-driven litigation, and media liability claims, working across class actions, mass arbitration, and single-plaintiff matters from intake through resolution.
This is a partner role at a firm built for elite senior lawyers. A portable book of business is preferred but not required. Role Overview:
Defend wrongful collection including California “CIPA claims” under Penal Code Section 637.2, including matters involving session replay, chatbots, tracking pixels, and third-party technologies.
Litigate technology E&O and professional liability claims against technology developers and service providers.
Handle cyber litigation stemming from data breaches and security incidents, including consumer class actions and B2B disputes.
Defend media liability matters, including copyright and trademark infringement, defamation, and related content-based claims.
Manage class action, mass arbitration, and multi-plaintiff dockets through dispositive motions, class certification, and resolution.
Advise clients on litigation risk, damages exposure, and mitigation strategy across the cyber, privacy, and technology landscape.
Monitor legislative and judicial developments affecting CIPA, CCPA, CPRA, and related privacy frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
5+ years of practice, with meaningful privacy, cyber, or technology litigation experience at an AmLaw 200, recognized regional, or top boutique firm.
Demonstrated track record originating and managing wrongful collection, data breach liability, technology E&O, or other cyber-related litigation. Class action, mass arbitration, or multi-plaintiff experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with digital technologies underlying modern cyber and privacy litigation, including cookies, tracking pixels, chatbot platforms, and session replay tools.
Working knowledge of AI systems and legal tech strongly preferred.
Senior-level knowledge of privacy law, technology transactions, professional liability, and media liability.
California licensure valued for the CIPA component. Candidates in IL and TX are also encouraged given active litigation in those jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Insurance Defense Paralegal (Remote)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced insurance defense paralegal to serve as an integral member of the litigation team, providing hands-on daily support to attorneys throughout all phases of insurance defense cases, with a focus on personal injury and automobile accident defense. This position carries a diverse workload spanning the full case lifecycle — from initial intake and matter setup through discovery, depositions, expert coordination, and trial. The paralegal will take ownership of medical record management, building detailed chronologies and summaries that help attorneys evaluate claims and prepare case strategy. On the litigation side, the role involves, under partner supervision, initial drafting of pleadings, written discovery, and HIPAA-compliant records requests, as well as managing document productions and privilege logs. The paralegal will also serve as the organizational backbone of the Team’s caseload, maintaining calendars, monitoring critical deadlines, coordinating depositions and expert witness logistics, and ensuring that case files and court filings remain current and accurate. As cases approach trial, the paralegal will contribute to preparation efforts including assembling exhibit and witness lists, building trial binders, and handling logistics. This is a fast-paced, detailed-oriented role well suited to a professional with strong writing skills, prior insurance defense experience, and a working knowledge of insurer billing guidelines and time-entry practices.
Qualifications
Prior insurance defense experience.
Experience handling personal injury defense matters, especially automobile accident cases.
Detailed familiarity with insurance billing requirements, including insurer billing guidelines and time-entry practices.
Ability to draft basic pleadings and litigation documents for attorney review.
Experience with discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses.
Strong case management skills, including tracking deadlines, organizing case files, and maintaining calendars.

Fully remote position with occasional possible overtime (upon prior written approval) based on case deadlines.
Must be able to manage workload across multiple matters and jurisdictions.
Compensation and Benefits for this Remote Paralegal Position
Base pay range: $60,000-$80,000 per year
Other compensation: This role is eligible for a performance-based annual discretionary bonus.

Paid time off: 10 days of vacation annually (increasing to 15 days after 3 years and 20 days after 5 years), plus 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave annually, plus 11 paid holidays. State and local paid sick leave laws may provide additional entitlements.
