Pierson Ferdinand Partner Promoted to Colonel, Assumes Command of the 42nd Infantry Division Artillery

NEW YORK, June 27, 2024 – Following a distinguished military career and outstanding service, PierFerd Partner Marc Lindemann has been promoted to the esteemed rank of Colonel in the New York Army National Guard's 42nd Infantry Division.

The 42nd Infantry Division’s Commanding General, Major General Joseph Biehler, promoted Colonel Lindemann on June 9, 2024, following the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of his nomination on May 2, 2024.

In his new role as the Division Artillery Commander of the 42nd Infantry Division, Colonel Lindemann will be at the helm of a brigade headquarters and three field artillery battalions. He will be responsible for orchestrating the deployment and coordination of various key assets, including artillery, cyber, informational, space-based, and electronic-warfare resources of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.

Commenting on this milestone, Colonel Lindemann emphasized that his promotion aligns seamlessly with his role as a partner at Pierson Ferdinand, highlighting the flexibility and support PierFerd has provided to continue his service to clients, community, and country. He credits his military experience, where he honed his leadership and organizational skills, with greatly influencing his legal practice.

When asked about his inspiration to serve in the military, Colonel Lindemann recalled a pivotal moment in his life - the events of September 11, 2001. He had just started work as a lawyer in downtown Manhattan the day before, and, he stated, “The experience I had on my second day of work convinced me to enlist in the U.S. Army,” he stated.

Colonel Lindemann’s journey led him to Georgia for basic training, followed by Officer Candidate School, where he commissioned as a field artillery officer. Serving as a platoon leader in Central Iraq from 2005 to 2006, Colonel Lindemann navigated the challenges of serving his country overseas, while his daughter was born back home. Upon his return to the United States, he made the transition from active duty to the New York Army National Guard and resumed his legal career.

Colonel Lindemann extends his heartfelt gratitude to his wife, Candace, and his four children – Lilah, Marc Jr., Conrad, and Cyrus – for their unwavering support throughout his military endeavors, and he looks forward to continuing his service and legal practice with the same level of dedication and commitment.
