Mackenzie Welch has practiced transactional entertainment law at its highest level for more than a decade, focusing on the music, film and television industries. She is adept at advising and counseling both the creative and business sides of transactions.

  • Her wide-ranging experience includes the negotiation and documentation of industry-specific contracts, including recording, music producer, guest/side artist, mixer, work-for-hire, music publishing and administration, distribution, book publishing, licensing, personal management, personal appearance, on-screen talent, employment, copyright assignment, video production, podcast, product endorsement, content creator and social media influencer agreements. She also has extensive copyright and trademark prosecution experience, as well as music licensing and third-party clearance related experience, having served as production counsel and supervised clearance efforts for a multi-season, nationally broadcast television show distributed by a major distributor. In addition, she assisted with the negotiation and documentation of artist agreements, producer agreements, record label waivers and other music rights clearance efforts in connection with a major motion picture released on an international streaming platform, and served as the intermediary between a major recording label and major producer/distributor in connection with the same.
