Liz Veys is a commercial litigator and primarily practices in the Cyber, Privacy and Technology practice group. There, Liz represents organizations when they experience cyber security or data privacy events, as well as defending companies from third party claims. Liz handles technology errors and omissions (tech E&O), privacy class action, wire fraud liability, and a variety of other complex commercial disputes.

Liz joins Pierson Ferdinand with experience as both a City of Philadelphia prosecutor as well as an in-house claim attorney and manager in one of the world’s largest commercial insurers. Her experience in the public and private sector offers her clients a unique perspective and approach to legal advocacy.
Prior to private practice, Liz managed high stakes first and third-party cyber insurance claims for clients of all sizes in all industry sectors, including Fortune 500 companies. Liz has worked on hundreds of cyber matters, including ransomware, data breaches, business email compromises, social engineering, and wire fraud. She is well networked with relevant subject matter expert vendors such as forensics, remediation, data mining and public relations. Liz also has experience with analyzing complicated insurance coverage issues under first-party and third-party cyber, tech, E&O, and media policies.
Liz began her career as a city prosecutor in Philadelphia, honing her investigative and litigation skills. Liz was responsible for all aspects of prosecution for hundreds of misdemeanor and major felony criminal matters. She has experience handling serious matters that often required intense follow up investigation, cooperation with law enforcement and expert witnesses, and extensive witness preparation. Liz finished her career in public service handling domestic violence and sexual assault cases involving child and adult victims.
Liz received her J.D. from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law, graduating cum laude. At Temple, she was the recipient of the Law Faculty Merit Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement and The Stephen T. Saltz Memorial Scholarship by the Temple American Inn of Court. She also served as a member of the Moot Court Competition Team.
Liz is admitted to the Pennsylvania State Bar. She is also a fluent Russian language speaker.
