About

Liz is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate Department and serves as co-chair of its energy, renewables, and sustainability group, where she focuses primarily on tax, regulatory compliance and corporate structures for the energy and water industry.

  • Liz frequently represents large industrial customers, renewable energy developers and sustainable water technology companies. Liz also works with commercial and residential developers in securing energy services for end-use customers, including the integration of energy efficiency, clean tech and emerging technology programs to implement sustainable business models. Liz has significant experience on matters involving the development of wholesale power markets in Arizona and throughout the United States, including renewable energy generation and battery projects, hydrogen energy and carbon capture projects, and sequestration projects, and has helped many clients with their corporate, tax, and regulatory needs. Liz frequently provides advice with respect to both Federal and State tax credits and related corporate structures to maximize the economic viability of a project.

    Liz also has significant experience in International corporate law, strategic tax planning, corporate structures for global markets, and sales and supply operations. Liz has implemented international agreements in multiple countries in collaboration with client teams including business development, finance and operations.

    Liz has extensive experience with M&A transactions and Series funding, and she has provided consultative support on corporate compliance issues, working closely with international local counsel to ensure U.S. and foreign asset, tax, and income compliance, to conduct transfer pricing studies, and to negotiate tax incentives with foreign governments. Liz has also managed customs issues in multiple countries. She has performed legal due diligence for new global markets, advising on entity structure and formation as well as managing the full spectrum of international subsidiaries and oversight of corporate compliance issues for each. In addition, she has advised numerous companies with respect to their global tax strategies resulting in reductions of both domestic and international taxes.
