About

Kevin is a seasoned defense litigator with a robust track record of success in both state and federal courts, litigating complex matters nationally. Kevin has established himself as a formidable advocate for clients. He maintains extensive experience in nursing home and assisted living litigation defending facilities against claims of negligence and regulatory violations; medical malpractice representing healthcare providers in complex malpractice suits; accounting and insurance broker malpractice defending accountants and insurance brokers, respectively, against professional liability claims; condominium association disputes assisting condominium associations in various legal conflicts; bankruptcy; estates; and personal injury defense.

  • Kevin is known for his practical, resulted-oriented and proactive approach, designed to minimize potential exposure for his clients and drive the case to logical conclusion. In conjunction with a highly informed and ongoing comprehensive risk assessment, Kevin seeks to achieve, where possible, early dismissals or settlements, thereby reducing the time and cost associated with prolonged litigation.

Kevin’s recent accomplishments have included: successfully prosecuting an interlocutory appeal resulting in summary judgment for his clients in an insurance broker malpractice claim stemming from an uninsured physician’s negligence; summary judgment on behalf of a nursing home in a significant matter; dismissal without prejudice of a plaintiff’s § 1983 excessive force complaint; numerous no-cause findings on behalf of client condominium associations before the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights; partial summary judgment in a civil action alleging regulatory violations, consumer fraud, and breach of contract; negotiated a favorable settlement in a high-stakes nursing home matter involving the death of a patient within 24 hours of admission.

Kevin dedication to his clients and strategic approach to litigation make him a valuable asset to PierFerd.
