About

Jeremy is an experienced commercial litigator who represents clients in complex civil matters in trial and appellate courts throughout the country. Jeremy’s practice spans a wide range of practice areas and issues, including contract law, business torts, class action defense, insurance coverage and bad faith defense, as well as sports and entertainment, environmental, health care, and employment disputes. Jeremy is adept at helping clients navigate all aspects of the litigation process and is sought after for his diligence, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills. He has successfully represented clients before the United States Third, Sixth, and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals.

  • Prior to joining Pierson Ferdinand, Jeremy was a Partner in the Warrington, Pennsylvania office of Fox Rothschild LLP. Born and raised in the Philadelphia region, Jeremy returned to the area in 2016 after eight years practicing in New York City, first at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP and then at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP. He graduated with High Distinction from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and obtained his Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was recognized as a Robert McKay Scholar. While in law school, Jeremy was an Executive Articles Editor for the NYU Annual Survey of American Law. He also served as an extern to a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

    Jeremy is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New York as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Southern District of New York, and Northern District of New York.

Representative Matters

  • Representing beef manufacturer in bench trial involving appeal of business privilege tax assessment and in jury trial involving environmental nuisance and trespass claims.

  • Secured a unanimous ruling from the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals affirming dismissal of a multimillion-dollar garnishment proceeding against insurance carrier arising out of an environmental dispute.

  • Secured unanimous rulings from the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirming dismissal of proposed nationwide class actions seeking business interruption insurance arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Spearheaded successful defense of proposed class actions involving “total loss” automobile insurance claims.

  • Secured summary judgment from the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in a matter concerning a series of disputed cattle transactions.

  • Representing insurance companies in a variety of significant coverage, defense and bad faith matters in state and federal courts.

  • Representing food and beverage distributor in a variety of complex commercial disputes.
