Javier has supported and driven thousands of financings and M&A transactions, examined and prosecuted hundreds of patent and trademark applications, and litigated cases in state courts, Federal District courts, U.S. Courts of Appeal (including the Federal Circuit), and arbitral tribunals resulting in upheld awards and judgments for clients in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Javier has drafted and negotiated artificial intelligence, intellectual property, information technology and data privacy-related agreements, including AI development and deployment agreements, assignments, co-existence agreements, joint development agreements, licenses, purchase agreements (assets, membership interests, stock), security agreements, service level agreements, settlement agreements, SaaS agreements, terms of service, and transition services agreements.

Prior to joining Pierson Ferdinand, Javier was at Milbank LLP for fifteen years, working in its Washington, D.C. and Munich, Germany offices. Before that, he was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), examining in the image processing and image reproduction arts. Javier holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University (cum laude) and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (cum laude).
