About
Armon practices all types of intellectual property law, with a focus on both patent litigation and prosecution in the mechanical, electrical, and software technology areas.
-
Armon represents both plaintiffs and defendants in U.S. federal courts, including appeals to the Federal Circuit. He has asserted and defended against claims of patent infringement and invalidity, briefed various patent-specific issues, and successfully brokered favorable settlement agreements for clients.
Armon’s practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office includes drafting a number of successful petitions for inter partes review (IPR) and requests for reexamination, as well as handling traditional patent prosecution. He has experience influencing litigation or negotiations based on trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. On the prosecution side, Armon has drafted and prosecuted a wide variety of patent applications, building large patent portfolios that are well-positioned for potential licensing or litigation in the future.
In addition to counseling clients regarding patent portfolios, Armon also provides clients with legal opinions regarding patentability, freedom-to-operate, invalidity, and noninfringement issues. He also guides clients through IP litigations, provides IP valuation services, polices unauthorized use of client trademarks, and negotiates complex licensing agreements concerning intellectual property and other assets.
His technological experience spans a variety of fields but generally includes the mechanical, electrical, and software fields. To name just a few examples, Armon’s experience includes technology relating to medical devices, wind turbines, heavy machinery, manufacturing processes, optical fiber and lenses, wireless communication protocols, telecommunication networking, video compression, encryption algorithms, virtualized computing, surveillance systems, data-center management, and various software products.
